2015

RbD's 2015 highlights!

As 2015 draws to a close the team at RbD have been reminiscing about our highlights of the past year…

A new home

RbD’s 2015 began with an office move into a bigger premises to house our growing team. In the same building and in an ideal location on New Street, we’ve been right next to all of the New Street station* and Grand Central shopping centre developments. It’s a really fun time to be working in central Birmingham & we’re looking forward to more exciting changes in 2016!

Our 21st birthday!

April 2015 marked our 21st year in market research and the beginning of our birthday festivities. The celebrations saw us adapt our logo for the first time in the company’s history!

And of course it wouldn't be a birthday without cake…

Operation Teddy Bear

#opteddybear

The summer saw the RbD team support brave Finlay Church’s attempt to break, the Guinness World Record for the longest line of teddy bears. Fin and his friends and family smashed the previous record of 4,014 bears with 15,534 bears! RbD donated bears & encouraged city centre workers to do the same – donating a total of 38 bears to Fin’s successful attempt!

Birmingham Children’s Hospital

Feeling inspired by Fin’s incredible fundraising efforts, we decided to get involved further with our local community. In June 2015 we became a corporate charity partner for Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and have enjoyed supporting the charity in sporting events and their Christmas Jolly Jumper Day! One of our team even swam the channel - well its distance in the calmer waters of a local leisure centre to raise money for this fantastic charity.

Grand Central

We have been lucky enough to support the new Grand Central development on two research projects- pre and post launch. Our pre-launch research took us on an amazing tour of the development in its final stages before it opened to the public. The new shopping centre looks incredible and the team are delighted with the range of new eateries to enjoy on our lunchbreaks!

Breakfast club

A lot of the research we conduct is within the B2B space, which requires us to gain time and input from very busy people! We tried a new approach to an old problem in 2015 by running many of our focus groups over breakfast. Timing our meetings before the start of the working day received an overwhelmingly positive response from our target audiences & will be a method we carry into 2016.

 Coffee and Croissant

Das ist wunderbar!

2015 saw us launch our first survey in Germany, giving some members of the team the chance to practise their more than questionable GCSE German (it’s been longer than they’d care to acknowledge). Working on a major project for the client, the survey will give the business a new level of insight into purchase choices across their industry.

Work placement

In 2015 RbD successfully launched a two week work placement programme, introducing 2nd year students and graduates into the exciting world of full service market research! We’ve met some incredibly bright people at the beginning of their careers and look forward to welcoming more people to the RbD team in 2016.

On top of all our team successes we've also been delighted to support our colleagues in welcoming a new baby girl and attending a wedding!

From all the team at RbD we wish you a very merry Christmas

And a healthy & happy New Year!
